This is a devotional book that takes the wounded soul on a journey to emotional health and fullness of joy ~ one small step at a time.
Flame of Healing is for every person who is stuck in pain, from abuse or trauma suffered in childhood or adulthood. With the Word of God as its foundation and focus, each step of healing offers compassion and hope. Written and artistic personal responses are encouraged for in-depth healing. Flame of Healing was written with a two-fold purpose, to honor God as the ultimate source of in-depth healing and to honor the individual who courageously seeks healing. Reviews ~ "Flame of Healing is unlike anything I've read, and far surpasses most books on inner healing in its approach and effectiveness. The positive approach taken in this book does not gloss over the depths to which one must delve in order to gain freedom and healing. Freda has captured the imperative essence of light and healing." Susan Davis, Oregon, USA "Flame of Healing is a study by which an individual can seek healing and hope through a Spiritual Recovery Process. It provides through Scriptures and Journaling a method of working through the pain to hope and freedom from past trauma." Dr. Murl L. Silvey, Oregon USA "As I read Flame of Healing, I found myself feeling the emotions of the trauma I had gone through as a child. I followed Freda's suggestions, writing of how Christ was helping me, healing me of the hate and anger that I had bottled up. This book has brought me from the darkness of hate and anger to basking in the light of Christ." Marilyn, Oregon USA "Your book is a God Send. Because of my nursing background people feel comfortable telling me their stories of abuse. I feel that through your book I now how a tool to help them heal. Your book doesn't focus on the trauma. It focuses on the healing and in the process the pain from the trauma slowly ebbs away and is replaced by a sense of faith, hope, security, and even purpose." Joan, Vermont, USA "Your book is soooooo powerful and beautifully written....it sure ministers to me." Leila Rae, Oregon USA "Your book was a tremendous help." Kathy, Oregon, USA "Thanks for your book - it is really wonderful. I am reading it every night before I go to sleep." Jill, Minnesota, USA "I really like your website; may God bless you and your effort in helping set the captives free." Biancia, Virginia, USA "I visited your website for what I thought would be a brief look, instead I found myself immersed in all that you offer there. I love the site and will definitely visit again - soon." Leona, Texas, USA |
Chapters
1. Receiving God's Love 2. Suffering, Through the Perspective of Christ 3. Identifying and Accepting Emotions 4. Forgiveness, A Process of Grace 5. Your Identity in Christ, Rather Than Victimization 6. Beyond Pain, Reaching Out to Others _____________________________________ Excerpts from Chapter 1, # 14 TheTriune God knew you and loved you, even before you were born. He set you apart, from all your pain, from all your sorrow, to be holy before Him. Through this healing process, He is fulfilling His glorious purpose and is joyful in your steps toward healing. Lean into His grace and His full knowledge of your heart. Write down your thoughts and feelings of His love and knowledge of you, His child. "BeforeI formed you in the womb, I knew you; before you were born, I set you apart." Jeremiah 1:5a from Chapter 4, # 186 Jesus paid the price for every sin that was ever committed. It is up to each individual to accept that Jesus paid the penalty for all sin, or to ultimately stand before the judgement of the Holy God. When you seek to forgive someone who hurt you, you are not removing their responsibility for their sin. Only Christ, in His gift of salvation, is able to do that. You are, however, removing yourself from the grip of their sin. It is then between that person and God. It is like removing yourself from a waterfall of angry and hurtful actions. Write about stepping out of the cascading memories of the hurt you suffered and walking into a safe place with Christ, through the miracle of the forgiving process. "Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world." John 1:29b from Chapter 5, # 282 You have a glorious freedom in Christ. You are free from the burden of your past and from the victimization of your spirit. Your entire life is defined differently now, by the grace of Christ rather than by the pain that you once lived through. Do not ever allow the old slave tapes of your life as a victim, box you into a corner. Stand firm on the Word of God, His promises, His Presence and His love. Do not waiver or take even one step back to that old life of victimization. Hold onto the grace that Christ has given you. Take new steps of boldness in His power, with grace and love always going with you. Write about your freedom in Christ. "It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery." Galations 5:1 |
